Hajj And Umrah Vaccination

Ensure a safe and healthy sacred journey

Why getting Vaccinated is important?

As you prepare for your sacred pilgrimage of Hajj or Umrah, it is crucial to prioritise your health and safety.

Performing Hajj or Umrah involves interacting with large groups of people increasing the risk of infectious diseases. Vaccinations are essential to protect you from these potential health risks and ensure you fulfil your religious obligations without health concerns.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health mandates specific vaccinations for all pilgrims to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.

Health Guidelines for travellers to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Visit during 2025

The Saudi Ministry of Health issued a document that outlines health requirements and recommendations for individuals travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah or visiting Holy Mosques in 2025. These guidelines aim to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases, and provide essential health advice for a safe and fulfilling spiritual journey.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about travel health and vaccinations. Our pharmacist is happy to help with anything else.

What is the purpose of travel health?

Travel health helps you stay well before, during and after a trip abroad. Our pharmacist reviews your destination, itinerary and medical history, then recommends the vaccines, medicines and practical advice that reduce your risk of preventable illness.

What vaccines do I need for travelling?

It depends on where you are going, how long you will stay, what you plan to do and which vaccines you have already had. A travel consultation lets our pharmacist recommend the right protection for your trip, such as cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A or rabies.

How far in advance should I book my travel health appointment, and what are some recommendations?

Ideally book six to eight weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need more than one dose or time to take effect. If your trip is sooner, contact us anyway — we can often still help.

Will I get a certificate as proof of vaccination?

Yes. You will receive a record of the vaccines given at Batley Pharmacy — keep it with your travel documents. Some countries ask for specific certificates on entry, and our pharmacist can explain what your destination requires.
